I would like to know how we can stop The Salem News from littering our neighborhoods every Saturday morning with plastic, rubber and paper. Phone calls to them are no help.
In my case, and I suspect many others, their “circular” that they toss at my house’s general direction every weekend is unsolicited, and are no different than someone throwing trash out a car window.

When my wife and I walk the dogs, we see hundreds of these unclaimed papers all over the city, and since many people don’t bother to pick them up, they multiply as weeks go by.

In this new age of green thinking, it amazes me that this continues, and I would like to stop this practice that The Salem News has been doing for years.
I wonder what the total amount they distribute in Salem is on a weekly basis?
How is it any different than me leaving my trash at the front door of The Salem News? I’m sure I’D get a phone call or two.

I for one, am tired of cleaning up after The Salem News.

  2. Sergeant Harry Rocheville Community Impact Unit (CIU)

The CIU hope that you all had a great holiday season!!! I just wanted to let your association know about the community service initiative that the CIU conducts on Saturday mornings. We have a group of teens that are on probation for various reasons and part of juvenile probation requires that they conduct at leaset 8 hours of community service a month. For years the teens were unable to complete their community service requirements as a result. Over this past summer the community service clients painted the snack shack at Mack Park and at the end of the summer we began the process of scraping and painting the gaurdrail.

I will send photographs to Rose Mary.
