This past week, Mack Park benefited from a spring cleanup, thanks to inmates from the Lawrence Correctional Center.
Trash, winter- and fall-accumulated debris, as well as overgrown vines and brush were bagged and removed from the park, readying it for summer usage. Inmates also created a garden space around Mack Park’s new flagpole.
This is not the first time Sheriff Cousins has provided the park with the helping hands of inmates. For the past few years, the Sheriff’s Department has generously participated in the park’s spring maintenance, as part of their community service program.
During the week-long cleanup, members of the Mack Park Neighborhood Association provided robust meals for the inmates, in appreciation of their hard work, which makes a significant impact each year on the condition of Mack Park.
Thank you Sheriff Cousins and Lawrence Correctional Center, for your support. We hope to see your return, for years to come.
